Black Lentil Curry
Protein packed vegetarian delight...
Follow the recipe to make this sumptuous protein rich vegetarian meal, that can also be made vegan!
Getting started...Soak black lentils for 5-6 hours before boiling it in a pressure pan for 4-5 whistles.
Roughly chop 2 tomatoes, 2 green chilies, a block of ginger and 5 cloves of garlic...blend this into a gravy. Chop some onions and keep it aside.
Heat clarified butter (ghee) or vegan oil (coconut/almond/corn) and add cumin seeds. Wait until cumin seeds crackle and add chopped onions. Once golden brown add the tomato/ginger/garlic gravy. Add in turmeric powder, salt...let it boil for several minutes.
Add the boiled black lentils...and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
This can be served with rice, bread or can just be had as is like a soup. For a tangy flavor you can add some lemon juice. Bon Appetit!
