Each metropolis while unique with its own distinct signature is so similar in some common things it shares; food stalls being one of them. Be it the halal carts in NYC, bhel-puri guys in Mumbai or these pop-up taco stalls and little shops all over Mexico City.

During our Mexico City stay we walked a lot through not only the touristy main thoroughfares but also the little by-lanes and side streets and that is where we saw the locals scenes like the one above. Tiny taco stalls like this one which was actually a store front (or many were just taco carts) where locals would be tucking away into some amazing smelling and fiercely spicy meats and tacos ! Friendly service, piping hot food and cool cola's on the side !!

Mexico City Raghu Rai.jpg

We missed the Raghu Rai exhibit in New York but were pleasantly surprised to find it at the Museum of Photography, right next to Templo Mayor. A city couple beautifully contrasting the photo of traditionally dressed Indian women.

The exhibit had some excellent B/W pictures from post-independence and his travels across India. Some interesting ones posted below (photography was allowed in this exhibit).
